The R1 combines our weatherproof rubber saddle top with the strength and simplicity of the traditional Frame 1 platform. It is an affordable, low-maintenance option for mountain biking, wet-weather touring, commuting, and year-round riding in unpredictable conditions.
Its vulcanized EPDM rubber top is weatherproof and fully tensionable — an industry-first design that allows riders to adjust the saddle’s support over time. Unlike leather, the rubber top does not require special care or protection from rain.
Our patented Flex-Fly Slot moves with your body as you pedal, helping relieve perineal pressure, sit bone pain, and saddle sores. Exceptionally long chromoly steel rails provide industry-leading fore/aft adjustment, making it easier to fine-tune your riding position.
The R1 uses our traditional, integrated Frame 1 construction. Unlike the modular R2, it does not offer interchangeable saddle tops or carbon rail upgrades, but it provides a durable, straightforward platform for riders who want dependable comfort in all weather conditions.
